Hey man nice video. I have one of those as well and I noticed if you go down in spur to much it’ll cog It’s really a nice platform my biggest bitch is you have to have an almost clean running surface (because of the low clearance) any rocks or pebbles and it’ll jump or flip over

I've almost ordered one of the Rlaarlo speed cars a dozen times. I think the second one they released is my favorite. I have a couple 6s Infractions but they really need room to drive right plus they eat at least a $40 pair of tires every few battery packs.

The car is impressive, looks great too. One of the biggest issues I run into with these types of cars is same as you, finding a spot to run them. I recently got the Losi 22S car and as fun as it is , I have to make sure there’s no traffic , smooth pavement and try not to pile into the curb. I find myself more inclined to just grab a basher because it’s just easier .

This is by far the best truggy out there I've just got the cage buggy The dirt flaps don't work Also my only nag with them is the flex in the chaise is not the best but thats a driver thing but I put the upgrade thicker chaise on both of mine I mean the oem chaise is not bad u find it bends a little and then seems to stay happy even with a little bend in it but that dose eventually destroy the drive train

I pretty much put the pinion and spur as close a possible with play and it's perfect

Technically nobody can build an Ultimate exactly as they are from Traxxas, Xmaxx is my favorite R/C, So tough easy and inexpensive to repair (stock) No R/C can take the abuse a Xmaxx can!!!

Does that ESC let you adjust timing? Since everything's running cool you could crank up the timing and see if that gets you what you're after.

500 front 20 mill with 1 ear plug and 300 rear. Running max 5 1100kv 25/35. Your mod 1.5 sounds terrible compared to mine. If you have the GPM spur gear it has that little bearing that the shaft goes into. That bearing usually blows and the shaft will spin funky creating that noise, even though it will look like the mesh is fine. It’s happened to me a number of times and I know that sound.

I run 2 million in the center diff wheely nice and don't diff out all the power to the back wheels

Sounds like the drive shaft hitting plastic,gears sound unique.

I like 20 million topped off with an earplug. Gets you to about 30 million. You need that minimum if not full earplug because of the how heavy it is and the extra power you’ve got.

Put some little rubber legs on the bottom of the ramp and add a bit of weight. It’ll stay put for sure. Good luck 🍀

Earplug is the way to go it almost locks up the center diff but still has a tiny bit of play but it will really save your center diff if you land on on power and better POWER response! Love your videos! Are you planning to do more videos about the Arrma Kraton ExB v2?

Love all your content. My green Ultimate is all stock. Wheelies great for a half mile. All around great driving experience. I drive similar to you, pretty easy on it considering what other people do. My motor runs hot. Melted the plastic end caps and bearings first run. Now I drive it even easier but 170f degrees. Never has my Kraton 8s Castle 800kv Xlxv with no Fan gotten warm? Would like to have a stock spare motor for my XMAXX if you have any used ones you’d like to sell cause I’m worried about it. Got a Hot Racing 50mm fan to install but not confident it will help. Any suggestions, I really don’t want to upgrade motor but will if this keeps running hot. I’m across the river half hour north of Detroit 😬😅

Just keep a sandbag in the back of your truck. You can lay the sandbag in front of the jump and it will stay perfect

I can't pinpoint what it is, but that didn't sound too healthy. I'm wondering if it was a driveshaft/dogbone sound rather than gearing related.

SWEET!! Snow and paddles are so much fun!!! Absolutely LOVE the proline Dumonts, too! I recently built a nitro powered 4wd mud drag truck out of an old Duratrax Overdrive and out of the 3 different paddles I've tried on it, these work the best for me. That's on all 4 corners, too. I tried pretty much every combo (these on just the front with "straight across" paddles on the back, the other way around, etc...) I think that aggressively angled paddle design really helps keep it tracking straight like adding a bunch of rear toe, but without giving up much acceleration at all. The ones with the more straight across paddles seem like they'd grab a lot more earth (or snow 😆) and move the truck (maybe they do...), but it makes it wander all over the place at the same time and it just feels real sketchy to me ...kinda like a 1/10 stadium truck w/ 2.2" slicks going 60+, all ballooned up like crazy... I put a pretty ridiculous 24t clutch & 46t spur (that I had "custom" machined in China, as all the Traxxas and aftermarket spurs only got as small as 50 tooth. LOL) ratio in my project "Speed-JATO" last summer, and found out I need some foams or belted tires before I can open her up! This summer. ...hopefully! ANYWAYS!! My best ETs so far with the "new to me" drag truck were on Dumonts, though and I don't think I'm gonna be swapping them for anything else any time soon! The difference is pretty significant ...at least it is for my truck! Thanks for sharing the action with us, man! VERY cool! 😎

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ!!! For anyone having issues with burning up their pinion and spur gear and youve done and tried everything to correct the issue to no avail.. The stock xmaxx motor has a HUGE design flaw that no UA-camr is talking about!! I found this out myself while having non stop gear mesh issues since my xmaxx was new out of the box. The Stock motor has PLASTIC end caps.. These end caps become loose and the holes wollow out on the motor casing! This causes your motor mount to be loose ON THE MOTOR ITSELF so when you think you have your motor mount bolted in nice and tightly to your chassis you wont even rellixe that your motor is ever so slightly rocking back and forth on the motor mount! This causes your gear mesh to be ever changing from too tight to too loose! I spent SO much money on my xmaxx replacing every single item remotely realiated to the gears and its mesh to no avail.. I went through COUNTLESS pinion and spur gears from mod 1 to mod 1.5 .. hardened or NOT! Finally I decieded to do a motor swap knowing it was the ONLY thing left that could be causing the issues (I thought the motor shaft must be bent) and only after FULLY removing the motor and looking at it closely did I realize that the motor mount was never tight to the motor itself from day ONE. and only kept getting worse with time.. MORAL OF THE STORY: If you think youve tried everything and are still having gear /gear mesh issues then get rid of that factroy motor! I listened to all the youtubers who said "Stock motor is great, no need to replace it!" and I got burned because of it! Dont be like me and save yourself the trouble as even if its not causing you an issue now.. it eventually will loosen up in the future and will start eating gears.

Warm your diff fluid and it will mostly pour right in.

Actually I had tamiya rc cars 30 some years ago & losing was a car I wanted but couldn't afford . So today I had worked on a real car & the guy gave me a slash 2wheel drive car & the way I look at it if 7 drive any brand name car they too come as a expense more 5han others . So with traxas equipment some r great then some questionable . To build a car u want to beat & last longer than the guy r out competing with at a park or track its just the money .
